44th Beating of the Bounds - Saturday 5th May

44th Shrivenham 'Beating of the Bounds'
                                                   Saturday 5th May 2018
Meet 8:20am for prompt 8:30am start
at the Stocks in the High Street (walk approx. 14 miles)
If you would like to join us for the 'Beating of the Bounds' we will be pleased to see you.

The walk is not on public footpaths and is mainly across fields where we follow the parish boundary as closely as possible; there are a few deviations from the exact boundary to provide a safe and practical walking route. This is an excellent opportunity to see areas of the village not normally open to us.
As the walk can be hard a reasonable level of fitness is required, there are a number of obstacles to overcome and sensible shoes or walking boots are recommended.

Families with children are very welcome. Please bring along enough food and water for the day.

A comfort break has been arranged at Swanhill, at lunchtime where tea and coffee will be provided, this is just over the halfway point.
Sorry no dogs are allowed on the walk and no unaccompanied children.

Presentation of ribbons will take place at 'The Crown' in Shrivenham starting at 6.30pm and is finished by 7pm.

A light meal has been organised for 7pm. If you would like to join us, orders for this will be taken before we set off in the morning.

If any past "Boundary Walkers" would like to join us in the evening we would be pleased to see you. Please contact Steve or Ray to let us know that you will be attending.

For further information, please contact either Steve - 077 950 65559 or Ray - 074 622 40222

We look forward to meeting both old and new boundary walkers on the day.

Two Williams, William Burke and William Hare, discover a money making scheme far more lucrative than hosting lodgers. The first rule of business? Supply and demand. In the leading city for medical research, there's a huge demand for bodies and an inconveniently low number of deaths. The profitable solution? Murder, of course.

As the infamous pair flourish in their new found careers, the more they murder, the less they care but for how long will they get away with it? In a new black comedy that is as hysterical as it is historical, three actors tell the true story of the prolific duo.
